This course is for students who wish to try oil painting for the first time or those who would like guided instruction on the techniques and practices for using the medium. We will break oil painting down to a step-by-step process. Learn about the materials used in oil painting, how to mix colors, and apply and handle paint. We will work on various exercises to help you practice working with the materials and begin to work on complete paintings. NOTES: -This is a 3-hour class as requested by some students last year. Plan accordingly! -This class will be held at ArtWaves Studio in Town Hill. - No class on Feb. 20. For Students who have already taken this class, Nicole plans to differentiate the exercises for multiple skill levels so feel free to join!
Painting supplies will be provided throughout the course. Students are only asked to bring in cotton rags (old t shirts), or paper towels and a few small to medium sized jars with sealing lids if they have them.Nicole DeSimone is a painter working primarily in Oils, painting the figure, landscape and still life.
